About our name
In Tashelheet, the dialect of the Souss region of Morocco, the word ayour means moon. The women who weave the carpets you see here chose the name for its beauty and importance to their culture.
A crescent moon is the symbol of Islam, which also uses a lunar calendar. The name also reflects a connection to the ebbs and flows of the natural world, which inspires many of the carpets' designs.
